This Privacy Policy describesthe what, how and why of the information we collect when you (when we say “you” we mean visitors, registered members or entities) usewebsites of ClassicScoutand how we safeguard your personal information. We care about safety of children. Because our websites are not directed towards children under 18 they are not allowed to register with or provide personal data to us. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we realise that we have yet collected personal information from a child under 18 we will immediately delete that information.

At ClassicScout we observe the legal regulations on processing of Personal Data and guarantee compliance. We may use and disclose your personal information only as follows:

  1. To personalise our websites and newsletters to provide you with the best possible user experience. You can at any point in time unsubscribe from our newsletters if you wish by using the unsubscribe link that you find at the bottom of each of our newsletters.
  2. To administer our website and business.
  3. To provide customer support to you and to communicate with you about your account for informational (not promotional) reasons.
  4. To send you E-mail notifications that you have specifically requested (for example search alerts).
  5. To create statistical information about our users. If we share such information with third parties we will ensure that individuals cannot be identified from that information.
  6. To provide information to representatives and advisors like attorneys, IT specialists or accountants who help us to comply with legal, accounting, or data security requirements and regulations. 
  7. To transfer your information in case of a sale, merger or acquisition of ClassicScout or its websites. In the event of an acquisition the aquirer will be subject to our obligations under this Privacy Policy.

We will not supply your Personal Information to any third party for the purpose of their direct marketing unless you express your consent.

Whilst our websites are hosted in Switzerland, your data may be processed in and transferred between any other countries we or our partners operate in order to allow us to use the information in accordance with this policy.
Personal information published on our websites may be available via the internet globally and we cannot prevent the use or misuse of such information by others. Given transmission of information over the internet is inherently insecure, we cannot guarantee data security when data is sent electronically.

Security of your personal information
We will make every reasonable technical and organisational provision against the misuse, loss or false modification of your data.
Your personal information is stored in secure, password- and firewall-protected servers inaISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified Swiss data centre. For financial transactions initiated through our websites we or assigned service providers are using appropriate encryption technology.
Your user profile with ClassicScout is password protected. It is your own responsibility to keep your password confidential. Apart from during the login process on our websites, we will never ask you to disclose your password.

Your rights
Whenever we may use your personal information for marketing purposes (i.e. sending a newsletter) you will be provided with an opportunity to “opt out” respectively to unsubscribe from the use of your personal information for marketing purposes. You can also instruct us at any point in time not to process your personal information for marketing purposes.
We will provide you with any personal information we hold about you upon your request along with the evidence of your identity and your current address.
We do our best to keep your data accurate and up to date to the extent that you provide us with the information we need to do that. Please inform us if any of your personal information that we hold needs to be updated or corrected.
We only store data about you for as long as this is reasonably required to enable us to provide our services. Unless it is prohibited by law, we will remove any personal information from our servers when you request us to do so.

Third party websites, Blogs and Social Media
Our websites include links to third party websites. We do not control those websites and cannot assume any responsibility for the privacy policies and practices of such websites. If you submit Personal Information to any of those sites, your information is not governed by our privacy policy. Please read the privacy policy of any website you visit.
Our websites may contain social media features such as the Facebook Like button or sharing functionality. These features are and widgets are usually hosted by a third party and your interactions with the features are governed by the according privacy policies of the companies who provide them.

When you register to use our websites, we store “cookies”. Cookies are small strings of code that are sent by our websites and stored in your web browser. ClassicScout uses these cookies to collect information about when you visit our websites, what browser type and browser version you installed on your computer and other similar information which typically does not personally identify a user.

We may use Web Beacons when we send E-mails and Newsletters to you.
